ametrine_goldl

14K Gold and Ametrine pendant - created using CAD/CAM technology.

These pieces were all made using the CAD/CAM process. This is done by creating the piece on the computer using a three-dimensional software program. Then taking this computer file to a "FDM" rapid prototyping system. The "FDM" means that the 3D object is built by depositing material building up layer to create the object.

There are various types of these systems. I used a system that deposits wax and then casts the wax into metal. For the black necklace and bracelet I used a different system that deposited an "ABS" filament to build the object.
